About Us

About Us

In 1982, Sureswar Dutta, a passionate social activist and dedicated lawyer, laid the foundation of Maria’s Day School in his Howrah residence. Over the years, the school flourished under the visionary leadership of Amitava Datta, the Founder Chairman, who played a crucial role in expanding its reach. From a small group of 10 students, Maria’s Group of Institutes has grown into a vast educational network with seven schools and two colleges across West Bengal, nurturing the academic aspirations of over 10,000 students today.

Chairman’s Message

Chairman’s Message

Maria’s Day School aspires to provide quality education to its students. The National Education Policy 2020 speaks of holistic education for children. It includes apart from academic, co–curricular and extra curricular activities, sports etc. All round development of a Man is the need of the hour and the national requirement. Just getting a degree or a certificate does not ensure employability or befitting for getting a job. Country needs befitting job seekers and simultaneously job creators and that is the national need.

Swami Vivekananda said “Education is the manifestation of perfection already in Man“.So, the perfect Man to evolve out of the system ofend education. Schooling is the vital part where a child grows from kid to adulthood. The maximum period of educational life is spent in a school. The school with its physical and human infrastructure is responsible to provide this ambience to all its children.

Maria’s Day School works towards the above and seeks co–operation from all quarters. Career building and character building must go hand in hand to make nation building during this era of Science,Technology, Artificial intelligence and robotics.

Thanks to all

Amitava Datta

Chairman, Maria’s Group of Institute
