SMU - Howrah is the first institute in eastern zone to use V- sat technology to share expertise and experience of professionals and academicians country wide in virtual classroom environment. Sikkim Manipal University has approval of Directorate of Distance Education and UGC and the Union Ministry of HRD, Govt of India.

Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) has recently launched next generation interactive learning system, edu next in collaboration with Microsoft which provides a collaborative and interactive environment for learning. Howrah center- MIECE has fully adopted the system to hone the multi skill talent of student.
